More than 3,000 Georgia children live with Type 1 ( juvenile ) diabetes, a disease for which there is no cure. Young people need two things to deal with diabetes: knowledge to control their chronic disease and hope for tomorrow. Camp Kudzu provides both, and gives young people the power of knowing that they are not alone.
Camp Kudzu receives no funding from national organizations or other diabetes nonprofits. It has a small staff with a big mission and needs your help!
Diabetes is a disease that no child should have to face.
But, 'til there's a cure . . . there's Camp Kudzu. |
A quality week of camp, including lodging, food, medical supplies, recreation and education is costly -- valued at more than $2,400 per camper. The campers' families are asked to contribute a portion of the camp expense, if they can afford to pay. Contributions from the community allow Camp Kudzu to serve families of limited financial resources and ensure that no child is turned away because of the family's inability to pay. Donations and grants also allow Camp Kudzu to provide year-round programs for children with juvenile diabetes and their families.
Children with diabetes can never take a vacation from the disease. But there is now a place for them to learn and grow with other children facing the same struggles. And now, you can help. Please consider joining the Camp Kudzu family with a tax-deductible donation. Contributions may be sent to:
