That’s a Wrap!

We just successfully completed our 20th summer at Camp Kudzu! At the beginning, we hosted 96 campers for a single overnight session in 2000. Twenty years later, we make a difference in the lives of more than 850 children, youth and families living with T1D with 16 year-round programs. The best part; we are not done yet!

We had an amazing camp season filled with new experiences, lasting memories, diabetes management and skill-building breakthroughs, and life-long friendships that define our special Kudzu community. These experiences and our incredible volunteers make up what we like to call the “Camp Kudzu Magic.” We would love for you to be a part of that magic, too, whether it’s hosting an event to benefit our programs or joining us for fun at Sugar Bowl or Spin for Kids. Our organization can grow even more when you get involved!

The first time a camper participates in a Kudzu program, they become a part of the Camp Kudzu community forever. No matter where they go, how old they are, or where life may take them, Camp Kudzu becomes a second home. Ask one of our former campers, Janna, who told us: “Making connections at camp, getting that week where you feel normal, and having a constant support system is why I love camp so much! Camp Kudzu will always have a place in my heart!” That sounds like magic to us!

When you make a donation to Camp Kudzu, you become part of the Camp Kudzu magic. You make it possible for our campers to attend a transformational Camp Kudzu experience. Camp Kudzu never turns a child away due to financial restrictions, because we believe every child and teen should have the opportunity to experience the “magic” of Camp Kudzu. In 2019, we provided more than 347 scholarships to our campers. Click here to help us make sure we can be there for everyone who needs us!

Thanks for a wonderful summer. We are looking ahead to our upcoming Kudzu programs and events. Read our blog, visit the gallery to see some of our favorite pictures of the summer, learn more about what’s going on, and find out how to get involved.
