Leadership Development Program (LDP)

At Camp Kudzu, we believe that as our campers grow in age, self-confidence, and diabetes management skills, their camp experience should grow with them! That’s why we offer a unique two-year leadership development program designed just for rising high school seniors and recent graduates living with T1D. Participants of the LDP get to enjoy all the best parts of the traditional camper experience while also learning teamwork, decision-making, leadership, and youth engagement skills.

This two-year pathway is more than just a comprehensive leadership track, it’s a chance for teens to build lifelong friendships, get a peek into the behind-the-scenes of camp management, and become knowledgeable advocates for others living with T1D. Whether you want to be a counselor at Kudzu, or are looking for a strong addition to your resume/college application, the Leadership Development Program is the right next step for you!

Participants of our Leadership Development Program engage in tasks focused on communication, decision-making, leadership, and youth development.
