Dr. Bob Schultz Camper Scholarship Fund

Dr. Schultz had a passion for treating children and a kind calmness when helping worried parents navigate life with type 1 diabetes (T1D).  He was a pioneer for families living with T1D and the overall diabetes community by opening the first pediatric endocrinology practice in Georgia.  He developed close relationships with patients, even after they’d outgrown his pediatrics office. Short breaks from his practice were often spent serving at Camp Kudzu overnight summer sessions.

We want to thank the Physician’s Alliance for helping us start this fund with their generous gift of $25,000 in honor of Dr. Robert (Bob) Schultz which will also be used to support camper scholarships.

“Camp was always a priority and non-negotiable for our dad.  Although nobody would ever describe him as a “rugged-camping guy”  — his passion for helping children and teens living with T1D each summer continued to pull at his heart strings and he would return each and every summer.  He was so proud to be a camp doc!”

Shared by his children, Kim, Brian and Jaime
