Have a Healthy Snack with these Chia Seed Energy Bites!

Summer is going great, with longer days, warmer nights, sunshine, and fun outdoors. Oh, and more snack breaks! It may be all the fun in the sun, but kids just seem to want to eat all the time during the summer. It is so important to provide them with snacks that are both delicious and healthy. Here is a fun summer snack recipe that will provide the nutrients your child needs to keep them satisfied. This easy recipe is one that even young kids can make! These Chia seed energy balls will help to provide energy for your children whether they are running around outside, playing in the pool, or even laying in the sun this summer.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup oats
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup peanut butter (or any other favorite nut butter or sunbutter)
  • 2 Tbsp chia seeds
  • ¼ tsp. vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Combine ingredients together until well mixed
  2. Add any additional add ins. (Chocolate chips, m&ms, raisins, nuts etc.)
  3. Refrigerate for 20 minutes
  4. Shape into balls
