Summer Camp… where the fun never ends!

At Camp Kudzu, summer camp is more than just a week of fun adventures. It’s also about improving diabetes skills, living a healthy lifestyle and sampling new menus. The education that happens at Camp Kudzu feels different than it does at school… no tests to study for and no papers due. Camp Kudzu is a world where having diabetes is normal. There is no need to explain blood sugar testing, finger pricks, insulin injections, ketones, “lows”, boluses or “carb” counting, because everyone here understands!

In 2017, Camp Kudzu offers FOUR week-long overnight camps for children and teens living with type 1 diabetes, ages 8-16.

We also offer Sprouts Day Camp, for campers ages 5 – 8, and a Counselors In Training (CIT) program, for campers in the 11th and 12th grades.

Camp Kudzu, The Musical

During session 4 at Barney Medintz, campers 13+ will have the opportunity to participate in “Camp Kudzu: The Musical.” Campers can be a star, play a supportive role or do backstage work in this intensive theater arts program. Campers will be able to enjoy camp activities while being part of a show. This creative program concludes with a Friday afternoon performance for the rest of the camp..
